What is a chargeback?
A chargeback happens when a customer's bank returns the payment that was paid earlier by a client for either the goods or services he/she purchased on-line. This could happen for a variety of reasons. Considering that the transactions all take place on the Internet, we have no real evidence (in accordance with the payment system requirements) of what happened with the transaction, and we cannot refuse any money impressment. That is why almost 100% of such requests end up as a chargeback. Chargebacks are allowed up to 180 days after the transaction was made.

What is the insurance deposit and what do we need it for?
We have to protect our business against different accidental events. In case of service payments by credit cards, we can sell to the buyer intangible promises of some future services (mostly access to the payment zone of the site ). If the payment zone of your site suddenly ceased to exist or become unavailable, then we have to compensate the payment for unused subscription to the buyer. To protect oneself in this case, we draw out from each payment by credit card 10% to create an insurance deposit which will be returned to you on the 181th day after the 10% was initially withdrawn (this is because the maximum possible term for a chargeback is 180 days from the time of the initial transaction).

How do you calculate the insurance deposit?
The insurance deposit is held during the first 180 days the account is working at the expense of the buyer. The amount withdrawn for the insurance deposit will be transmitted to the customer's personal account by the CardsGATE system on the 181th day after the account was created. The insurance deposit is 10% from each transaction accepted by the CardsGATE system.

Will you impose a fine on the paysite owner or the webmaster in the case of a transaction refund?
In occurrence where have been a problem on your side which involved refunds, we would impose a fine of 10 USD for each refund.

Will you impose a fine on the paysite owner or the webmaster in the case of a chargeback?
We impose a fine of $25 on the paysite owner for each such transaction.

Can I browse my selling statistics at any time?
You are welcome at anytime. And you can refresh it as many times as you want.

What do the terms DECLINE, PENDING and SUCCESSFUL mean in your statistics?
Our system uses a protection system against fraud which is calculated by your site during all valid terms of subscription. Based on this system of evaluation, our system sets for each transaction a certain confidence level.

There are three confidence levels. Once a transaction has been considered SUCCESSFUL, it means that the risk estimated by our system is small and that this transaction is "fair" (i.e. this transaction was made by a cardholder and he is not inclined to chargebacks). If the transaction was set as PENDING, it means that we have doubts to whether this is a straight dealing, however we do not have enough reason to reject the payment for that card.
Since we need either to scatter these doubts or confirm our suspicions, we go ahead and make this transaction and make an additional verification for it. The transactions which were set as PENDING will in one weeks time be transferred to either SUCCESSFUL or DECLINE. If a transaction will be DECLINE, then the login and password assigned to this client will be deactivated.
If our system assigned the transaction as DECLINE, then we have reason to believe that the transaction is of fraudulent nature, or the cardholder is at high risk for chargebacks. If the transaction will be assigned as SUCCESSFUL at the moment it was made, then it means that the transaction was not sent to our processing center for authorization. If a transaction will be set as DECLINE during the subscription time of some site, it means that either for this transaction it was necessary for payment return from a client (refund) or from his bank (chargeback) OR our system considered that the risk to reject this transaction is too high and made an automatic payment return back to the card.

What is the chargeback ratio?
The chargeback ratio is the ratio between the number of transactions and chargebacks. The maximum chargeback ratio is 2.5%. Any account that exceeds this maximum will be closed. All funds of such an account will be held for 180 days as an insurance deposit.
